"The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon DLCV Oakville is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon, showing notes of praphite, vanillin, copious quantities of blackberry and cassis, licorice, a full-bodied mouthfeel, great structure and intensity, plus a long, long finish. Only 300 bottles, or one barrel, were produced of this wine that was a dedication cuvee to [Kirk Venge's]* Mother. In all likelihood, this is a 50-year wine."
97-100 Points - The Wine Advocate, Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Tasted As Barrel Sample, October 2014)
"Aged 36 moths in 100% new French oak, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon DLCV is spectacular in both quality and price. It boasts an inky/blue/purple color as well as a smorgasbord of aromas, including blueberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, graphite, toast and flowers. Full-bodied, super-rich and dense, it possesses unbelievable upside and potential. It will need 4-5 years of bottle age and should age effortlessly for 3-4 decades. It is the quintessence of Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley."
